Happy Returns
Happy Returns solves the #1 pain point in shopping—returns—by reinventing the reverse logistics supply chain. We do this through a full stack
solution of software, services, and logistics that enables large direct-to-consumer and omni-channel retailers to provide their customers with a return experience that is much faster and easier, and which is also lower cost and more sustainable.

Why join us?
Big mission — We're solving a huge pain point: retail returns will soon exceed $1T (trillion!) per year in the United States. As you know if you've ever returned an online purchase, there is a lot of room for improvement!
Exceptional teammates — You'll join our small, highly collaborative team of world class engineers, designers, and product managers with ample opportunities for mentoring.
Delight customers and save the planet — We deliver a fantastic experience for customers (our lifetime customer satisfaction score is one of the highest for any consumer service, ever) and, in the process, we are making the entire reverse supply chain more sustainable by aggregating shipments, reducing shipping distances, and emphasizing re-usable materials throughout the process.
Engineering at Happy Returns
Our team currently consists of six engineers, two product managers, and one designer. We're growing the team now to build more new services and extend our existing ones for larger customers.
Our style is highly collaborative. We consider product design and development to be a team sport. Our approach is very dynamic with just enough process to run smoothly and efficiently. We assign tasks on a weekly basis according to the needs of the business and the skills and desires of the engineers.
Our challenge is to take the disparate return processes and policies of dozens of large retailers and convert them into a single return experience that is fast, easy, and delightful. Once we receive the returned items, we must then route, ship, process, and deliver them in the most efficient ways possible. And we must do all that while handling millions of items per year.
Create a system that enables the dynamic creation of different flows for processing items from various retailers, each of which may be complex and have any number of similar or unique steps. Add tracking and reporting for these highly variable flows.
Integrate with a large retailer's back-end system to retrieve product and inventory data so that as customers are returning items, we can proactively suggest relevant exchange options based on the items and the return reasons, in real time.
Create a retailer dashboard to report key metrics related to returns for retailers using a variety of components from our system.
