Engineering at Hive
Our engineering team operates in 1 week sprints with daily deploys to our beta and staging environments, and weekly deploys to our production environment. We use Hive to manage all of our work.
At Hive, you'll always know where you stand as an engineer and what the roadmap to progression looks like thanks to our Engineering Competency Matrix and Engineering Ladder.
The current team structure is flat, so every engineer works across every aspect of the stack. That includes front-end, back-end, GraphQL API, React Native for mobile, Electron for Desktop, devops, etc.
We're building a system that must be entirely real-time and provide a seamless experience to help improve the day-to-day workflow of our customers. Scaling a 100% real-time platform brings interesting challenges and requires the adoption of the right technologies (Redis, Websockets) and patterns to support it.
Hive Mail - for some people, more than 70% of their work comes from their email. Hive Mail is a fully embedded email client which allows our users to turn their emails into actionable tasks in Hive with due dates, assignees, attachments, and internal conversation to avoid polluting the email thread with dozens of CCs and FWDs.
Hive Notes - a real-time note capture system which can turn your bullet points into actionable tasks inside of Hive. Think Dropbox Paper or Google Docs, but with an actual project management system capturing the next steps.
Hive Developer platform - we can't build every integration for everyone, but we can empower developers outside of our org to do so! Working on the Hive Developer platform would give you the opportunity to think about DX, build the framework for hooking into Hive's UI, webhooks, and API in a unique way.
