Hyke has a massive opportunity to disrupt the future of work for one of the largest sectors of the working population. There are 15-20M full-time solopreneurs in the US, and an estimated 285MM more worldwide. The self-employed market is expected to grow tremendously over the coming years. In the US alone, the self-employed population is estimated to be 51% of the workforce by 2027. This represents a total addressable market of $95B+ that we can serve with an elegant, technology-driven solution.

As a founding engineer at Hyke, you will work directly with our CTO and CPO to define architecture, roadmap, and product direction. We’re looking for people to build features, and to help us define the future of work for what will become the largest segment of the economy in the coming years.
We are looking to build a small team of 4 full-stack engineers, with 2 of them focusing on front-end and 2 focusing on back-end. All these engineers will be directly working with the CTO/Co-founder of Hyke. Because we are designing and implementing a very unique product on the market, we are planning to evolve our structure to ‘Self-Managed Product Teams’
Our core values in the engineering team are: learn, empathize, take ownership, innovate, and GTD. We are using Scrum agile process framework to maintain these core process values within our team.
We’re working on a large, complex, and multifaceted platform. This process line includes several steps, such as: LLC formation, post-formation setup, Federal Tax ID retrieval, business bank account connection, contribution, bookkeeping/payroll tools setup, tax team setup, and year-around accounting/compliance maintenance.
Our main aim as the engineering team is to enable accurate and complete process management to our clients and team. Therefore, you will have a chance to design and implement a unique software architecture, including data management backbone, API architecture, clients and system status functionality managed by scheduled jobs and communication management with all parties.
Needless to say, the integration and management of various third-party tools (esign, banking, payment, file management, content management) is also on our plate.
You will be amazed by our system architecture, and how large and efficient we can make it together.
We are working on some automation that will ease the life of our clients and ops team members.
Some interesting examples include:
- Hustling a third party web form and trying to convert it an API so we can automatically submit some forms without the need for human interaction
- Automating some tax payments, so there’s less hustle and bustle
- Automating certain processes by parsing some emails that are sent by our partners or clients
- Automating our own File Management System on Dropbox
- Automating our own instant messaging platform—-who knows, maybe our dashboard for our clients can be that platform
ML/AI projects: This is our dream spot that we would like to arrive at with our engineering team. We have so much data that we can play with and use in order to provide better services to our clients and the team.
Some ideas include:
Automating their bookkeeping, as we will learn their patterns and shape our product with that input Proposing some tax advice —- on time without human effort Preparing our clients’ quarterly estimates and tax returns automatically Proposing financial and advice about benefits in a smart, automated way

Our philosophy is that high performers are responsible. As such, there is no official vacation policy. Take as much time as you need, as long as your manager approves. If you need a generous vacation, you can certainly take it. If not, don’t. You decide.
