Instrumental makes intelligent, data-driven tools to help companies identify issues on their assembly lines so they can ship higher quality products faster.
Our Founders are addressing a problem they know well — our CEO was the system design lead for the first generation of the Apple Watch and our founders have spent hundreds of days on manufacturing lines.
While manufacturing is advancing, most assembly is still manual — not autonomous. We're collecting key data about how things are made and where things break in the process in order to be at the forefront of autonomous assembly in the future.
We're a collaborative, low-ego team that enjoys tackling challenges together. It's all about the people.
Our engineering team is currently flat, operating around agile processes consisting of sprint planning, retrospectives, and a collaborative effort on development in between.
We are a combination of cloud services (web application) and
on-premise (inspection station software) to serve the data we collect. We provide a practical and incredibly functional use case for machine learning and computer vision.
