inVibe Labs
inVibe helps healthcare organizations listen to patients and those who care for them. We do this by increasing access to rare and hard to reach audiences, making participation in research as easy as talking to Alexa, and delivering study results in a simple interactive dashboard.
Listening matters. How a person says something means something. Voice communication has a biological effect on both the speaker and the listener. It’s remarkable that there is all of this hidden data encoded in how we communicate. Imagine helping a mother caring for a child with a rare disease put on a brave face. What if determining which message best communicates a life changing clinical benefit had a simple data-driven answer? We're assembling a cross-functional team of linguists, researchers, and engineers to help decode this data. This is what makes us proud to be a listening company.

Engineering at inVibe Labs
You would be the second engineering hire, working directly with the CTO. The ideal candidate would own projects end-to-end by helping define feature specs, building backend APIs (Rails), writing frontend code (mostly Ember), and performing ongoing improvements once the feature is live. For larger projects, you would have the option to pair with the CTO or bring in specialized freelance help when needed.
We’re breaking down what used to be a completely manual, synchronous process into small, self-contained asynchronous tasks. What is the most effective way to create a pipeline of data collection, validation, and augmentation while minimizing the human friction along the way? How do we do all this while handling sensitive data with strict compliance requirements?
Build a tagging system that allows our analysts to highlight verbatims from qualitative interviews and code them according to theme / stance.
Internationalize our Ember applications to support global research.
Build an in-browser audio editor that allows users to edit / clip audio on the fly.
Work with our in-house linguists to build tooling that helps them explore and analyze our structured qualitative and mixed methods data in unique ways.
