Engineering at jaris, Inc.
We have a distributed team of engineers. There is a European team and we are building out the US one. As an early stage company and team, our engineers are empowered to work across the stack from infrastructure to the front end. We have adopted a Kanban approach using Jira and other Atlassian tools but we also employ planning on a one week cycle to make sure we are building with the bigger business goal in mind. Daily standups via Zoom and Slack are employed to keep the team connected and informed of progress. Pull requests are used to review code, share technical knowledge, and hold ourselves accountable to agreed upon coding practices. We are growing our investment in automation of build and deploy tools (CI/CD).
We are building a software product to live in the middle of the very sophisticated payment processing ecosystem where data needs to flow into and out of our systems while ensuring data integrity and security. In doing so, the product must also decide if and how to issue loans to a variety of business through a large number of partners.
