Senior Software Engineer - Platform

What you will do: The platform team is looking for someone committed to building quality code that translates into real-world solutions for our clients and Jyvers. The platform teams builds the foundation and core components on which all of our products operate. You will be responsible for scaling our capabilities quickly, while the complexity of the marketplace grows just as fast. You will work on a wide range of interesting problems, from partner integrations and real-time order fulfillment to forecasting and fraud detection.

Our ideal candidate: A technical leader with a strong sense of mentorship and collaboration. Self-motivated with experience in taking direct ownership. High sense of code responsibility and release management follow through. Fastidious about git control flow. Proven track record of shipping high-quality code in a fast-paced startup environment. Ability to decompose complex business problems and lead team members in solving them.

Qualifications: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent. 3+ years working experience in Django application development. 5+ years industry experience with Python. Experience with service oriented architecture, writing REST API’s, unit testing, and architectural design. Strong data modeling skills. Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB). Experience in working on large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Compute). Commitment to code excellence.

Bonus: Interest in scaling our services 100x with cloud-based technologies and Docker. Experience in data engineering and/or working with machine learning toolkits.
