Engineering at Latch
Our software team is about 13 people, split amongst backend, web and mobile, and security. Because our teams are so small, you will have full exposure to the codebase. We work very closely across teams in an agile environment, within software as well as outside of our function. For example, we collaborate with the firmware team and product/UX design to build new features on our app and for the roll out of the next generation of smart locks.
We work on a variety of challenges, from low level bluetooth interactions with our hardware, scaling up our system to handle buildings with over 900 units.
Our mobile teams are working on the proximity unlock feature that allows you to connect automatically with any synced door on your Latch app. The iOS and Android team is working on completely redesigning the Android app for roll out year next
We are in the works of moving towards a microservice architecture to help improve latency and ensure data consistency
You would have the chance to overhaul the access paradigm which will change from the concept of individual access to the implementation of keys, thus, assigning multiple users to multiple doors in the most intuitive way

Our headquarters is located in the heart of Manhattan in Hudson Yards right off Penn Station. We are housed in the beautiful and modern RGA building.

Most of our engineers get in around 10 and leave around 6. Latch values impact over facetime anyday. No one is going to question why you're leaving early or working from home if you're delivering!
