Engineering team and processes

We operate as lean scrum teams, move fast, with emphasis on software delivery. Scrum teams meet in sprint planning, discuss goals and user stories, and then sprint for 2 weeks, before releasing functionality into Production.

We organize scrum delivery through JIRA. We also communicate frequently through Slack messaging. We strive to build quality software through peer code reviews and rigorous testing.

Technical Challenges

We have a financial services platform that processes millions of dollars of transactions per month. We also have to protect our users data and money because we are in industries that require it (healthcare and banking). Through our framework, we're pushing the bounds of software development in both client and server side.

Projects you might work on
  • Create a batch processing system to generate a banking ACH file and securely upload it to our banking partner's network.

  • Build React components on the front-end and use RPC/REST-based services and Postgres on the backend to create a marketplace of partners to offer their services to our users.

  • Integrations into 3rd party partners via files and real-time APIs.

    We will have team outings at least once a month. We will go to various parts of the city to do fun activities (e.g., Giants games, arcades, dinners, etc.)

    We provide medical, dental, and vision insurance. We offer multiple health plans and cover 90% of the monthly premium at the individual rate but we also make Company contributions into your HSA account!

  • Company Retreats

    Twice a year we do a company offsite (one winter/one summer), and each quarter we do a large team-based event where we review quarterly company objectives and set new ones for the next quarter. For example, we went skiing and got a house in Tahoe last winter.

  • Free Food

    We provide lunch 3 times a week, and Monday morning breakfast. We also have plenty of snacks and coffee in the office.

  • Flexible Hours

    Most of our team is in the office from 9am - 5pm, but those aren't hard and set. We treat everyone like adults so if you want to come in late or leave early, that's perfectly fine. You can also work from home here and there. We believe in accommodating people's lives to make them very productive.
