Why join us?

  • We've raised over $3M in angel+seed funding led by Konvoy Ventures, a game industry-focused VC based in Denver.

  • In 2020 we broke even, counting 11 of the world's top 50 game publishers as revenue-generating clients.

  • We're led by three seasoned entertainment and software execs that have been a part of three exits to publicly traded companies. We're just five full-time employees plus a group of talented contractors and partners. Joining Lootcakes now is a chance to get in while the company is still small, but already doing big things.

  • We play in a space rife with M&A activity: the User Acquisition / Data Marketing side of the fast-growing $127B Mobile and PC games market.

Engineering at Lootcakes Inc.

Engineering team and processes

Currently, our CTO is the sole in-house engineer at Lootcakes, though we employ a team of about 10 engineers with a European partner that we work closely with via daily standups and weekly retrospectives, demos, and code reviews.

Technical Challenges

1) To date we've been a web-focused .NET shop, but that's all changing as we prep for a huge launch of our upcoming v2 product/service launch. We're building our first mobile app and switching to React and Node.js. This is the future of the company so we're excited to bring on board someone with deep experience in these areas to help us modernize and scale the company.

2) One ongoing challenge we face is keeping our internal game database up to date and synced. Game information is constantly changing (new games are released, game names/metadata change, etc.), and game information is not necessarily synced between various platforms (e.g. the same game on Google Play and iTunes may be named something different). We source our game data from multiple providers, so keeping our internal games database up to date and accurate given the issues described above presents numerous technical challenges.

3) Working with an overseas engineering partner has inherent challenges due to time zone differences and potential communication issues. However, we have been quite pleased with how our relationship with our partner has developed and have found any such issues to be quite minimal.

Projects you might work on
  • Help build, launch, and optimize our new Progressive Web App for Android and mobile web.

  • Scale our service to handle millions of users.

  • Help architect and build our first B2B site and game publisher client portal.
