Our engineering team operates on Agile methodology. Each sprint is preceded by a meeting to poker plan our issues in Jira, assign clearly defined tasks to our engineers, and discuss the previous sprint's achievements and issues as well as address incomplete tasks. The sprint then ends with code reviews and a demo of the finished work. Engineers typically have worked both with UI/UX designers and Product Managers to resolve questions and concerns and engage with the business side for product decisions and opportunities. We focus on documentation and unit testing wherever applicable and submit regular Pull Requests on GitHub for code reviews before pushing to production. All of our engineers are full-stack and get to interact with all parts of the codebase from the stylesheets to DevOps; personal preferences however are strongly considered when assigning tasks.
Our recent work has been to implement the latest libraries and tech stacks and update our codebase to the most recent stable versions of all libraries and third-party applications.
We recently began migrating our backend structures from an internal PHP framework into Larvel controllers and architecture. This includes connecting existing model, controllers, and statically-served pages to a new Laravel API structure with a React front-end and implementing component unit tests, fixtures and process documentation at crucial steps.
We recently began migrating our existing image-resizing application to an AWS Lambda@Edge function within a Docker environment.
Past projects include creating a Payments system using Python, Flask and the Stripe API as well as creating a messaging system and API using Node and React.
