The only place they can go is to massive publically traded companies that sell them tech from the early 90s. MANTL's platform is solving a real market need and providing these smaller banks with the ability to compete and give their customers better experiences - This problem is not going away. Engineering at MANTL
We run Agile Scrum with two-week sprints. We deploy to production at least once every week and are working on transitioning to true continues delivery model where developers deploy code into production multiple times per day.
Unlike most of the other players in our space, we do not write any one-off custom code per bank. This means we need to manage the differences between banks on the configuration level. This presents a constant challenge of finding the right level of abstraction.
Additionally, we integrate directly with Core Banking Systems (these are the systems that banks use to track everyone's money). These systems are old (like 70s old) mainframe programs which are arcane and temperamental. What we get for being experts in doing IO with these systems is the ability to expose their power through nice modern APIs to our own products and other FinTech companies.
Build StoryBook react component library that allows for code sharing between our end-user front end and our admin console to allow bank employees to edit the copy and logic of their online account opening flow and push updates in real time.
Build a set of API endpoints that wrap around and arbitrary banking core and expose all of the functionality needed to support another FinTech company using our API to build their online banking interface.
Refactor the data layer of our consumer-facing react redux application to use GraphQL and Appolo.
