Why join us?
Founded by the team that built $1B MasterCard Track that solved payments between Buyers and Suppliers. Now we are doing it again with all 120M SMB globally, which has never been done before. We have partnered with Equifax, Salesforce, BDO, MasterCard, and AON to help make it possible.
Currently a well-funded early-stage startup with a team that has built large-scale businesses before. The leadership team has collectively built and existed over 10 starts up, and lead major divisions of Fortune 500 companies.
Engineering at Markaaz
The engineering team works in one or two-week sprint cycles. All tasks are assigned and tracked in JIRA, and code is deployed with CI pipeline from git. This is a simplified version of Scrum.
All code is peer-reviewed before promoted to git. We have typical dev, stg, prod environments with necessary review points for stakeholders.
We are working with a database of over 300M SMB worldwide and will be creating a natural language/machine learning search to help the businesses claim and verify their full supply chain. We will also be importing, in real-time, data from Sales, FinTech, AdTech, and accounting platforms.
We have completed our prototype application, and building the MVP. At this point, we will be creating all the building blocks of a continuous delivery platform, style guides, and formal SDLC. We are very open to suggestions and want the engineering team to define for themselves the best way to work.
Importing up to 50 different data sources into the natural language search platform, and training the AI platform to query the data.
Creating a system for SMBs to invoice and pay each other without incurring any transaction fees.
Working at Markaaz
We are very scrappy, egoless, and open to suggestions from anyone on the team. We are also ambitious and make the impossible possible. We all thrive in a culture where we build something bigger than ourselves. As a team, we are all working toward the mission of helping SMBs succeed by enabling them with information and suggestions.
We are actively attracting diverse talent, both in terms of background and thought. We value diversity across all areas, and believe that it is a driver for creativity and innovation. Our team is international, diverse, but yet inclusive of everyone, and more than anything, a family.
It starts with onboarding, every new team member receives a welcome kit, including some Markaaz swag (clothes: sweater, pants, cap etc. - we also have swag for children, and soon for dogs :). Further we encourage employees to connect with one another and to be active within the community. If someone has a good idea, or would like to share a passion with the team, there is always room for that.
Our Employee Handbook is broad and provides profound resources for all employees. Beyond that, we encourage continuous learning and if there is something that we do not offer today, we are open to look into it, and improve. Further, our HR Counsel is professional and highly confidential, the door is always open if someone has questions or needs someone to speak to.
