  • Founded by the team that built $1B MasterCard Track that solved payments between Buyers and Suppliers. Now we are doing it again with all 120M SMB globally, which has never been done before. We have partnered with Equifax, Salesforce, BDO, MasterCard, and AON to help make it possible.

  • The product will heavily depend on natural language search, machine learning, and industry analysis. Areas of focus are Search Optimization, Open Banking, and Consented Data. All engineers will have experience with tuning the search platform. The front end is a single-page javascript application. The back end built for scaling, CI/CD, and security is built into the platform design.

  • Currently a well-funded early-stage startup with a team that has built large-scale businesses before. The leadership team has collectively built and existed over 10 starts up, and lead major divisions of Fortune 500 companies.


Engineering at Markaaz

Engineering team and processes

The engineering team works in one or two-week sprint cycles. All tasks are assigned and tracked in JIRA, and code is deployed with CI pipeline from git. This is a simplified version of Scrum.

All code is peer-reviewed before promoted to git. We have typical dev, stg, prod environments with necessary review points for stakeholders.

Technical Challenges

We are working with a database of over 300M SMB worldwide and will be creating a natural language/machine learning search to help the businesses claim and verify their full supply chain. We will also be importing, in real-time, data from Sales, FinTech, AdTech, and accounting platforms.

Projects you might work on
  • We have completed our prototype application, and building the MVP. At this point, we will be creating all the building blocks of a continuous delivery platform, style guides, and formal SDLC. We are very open to suggestions and want the engineering team to define for themselves the best way to work.

  • Importing up to 50 different data sources into the natural language search platform, and training the AI platform to query the data.

  • Creating a system for SMBs to invoice and pay each other without incurring any transaction fees.
