We're a mobile platform + community that enables direct sellers (modern-day
Avon ladies) to run their part-time businesses using modern technologies and techniques instead of paper and pencil.
97% of those who use our app previously used paper and pencil prior to their sales businesses. We've got an incredible opportunity to change how 60 million people worldwide work their businesses to provide supplemental income for themselves and their families.
Our CEO and CTO were leads at a startup that was acquired by Workday. They then went on to launch the first predictable analytics application at Workday within two years of being acquired.
We release new updates every day that make a real impact on real people and are constantly receiving feedback from our user base on what's working. If making an immediate, positive difference in someone's life is important to you, we'd love for you to join us.
Our Engineering team organizes work via weekly sprints. Scrum is an important part of our process. A typical week includes the following: - Weekly update with the rest of the company to ensure there is visibility across all functions - Daily scrums as a Product Team (Engineering plus our CEO and Head of Design) - Afternoon tech syncs to help work through engineering challenges together - Weekly Planning on Fridays to make sure the whole team is aligned on the upcoming Sprint - Bi-monthly Brown bags were anyone in our team can chat through a recent framework change or major concept
We use Asana to manage all tasks, Nuclino for specs/technical documentation and Github to manage all our repositories and code base. To communicate with one another, we use Slack and Zoom if a teammate needs to call in remotely.
Sanitizing and ingesting data is always a challenge. We are plugged into an industry where data is not guaranteed to be structured as one would expect or sanitized.
In addition, our app is a web view inside of a native Android and iOS shell. This allows us to integrate correctly, but also adds a bit of complexity to our tech stack. We have one engineer who is largely devoted to maintaining both native application codebases.
A past project included building a design system such any engineer on our team can build a feature end-to-end without being a guru at UI Design. We've built out well-defined components that can be used fairly quickly to build a new feature that is consistent with our design. This is serving us well now since we are in the process of re-branding and can do this fairly quickly.
A past project included building a tracking platform that allows us and our Enterprise Partners to easily track how traffic from Maven Technologies impacts their sales. We clearly define UTM params that allows a retail partner to, for example, measure the traffic generated from our app and specifically through text communication.
Aa past project this Spring included enabling any user to upload their product catalog into our app to easily promote it. This meant being able to upload photos of products quickly to enable prospective customers to easily learn about new products.
We value being scrappy, always asking how we can do better, listening to those we build our product every day when designing new functionality, embracing life-long learning, and advocating every day our user base and individuals on our team to live fulfilling and sustainable lives.
We have an unlimited vacation policy.
We are just blocks away from the Salesforce Transbay Terminal. Our building features exposed brick walls and ample sunlight.
We encourage every teammate to pick one conference a year to attend to grow themselves professionally and constantly be learning through workshops and other means.
Almost everyone in our team owns a pet and sometimes our furry teammates join us at the office (pets do require clearance, first).
We provide full medical and dental coverage.
Most of our engineers work 10AM to 5PM. If you need to take off early, come in late or work from home, we understand! Life happens and we have several teammates with children. It is more important that work and projects are completed than where.
Fridays our team catches up over beer, wine or beverage of choice. We also do team events at least once a quarter. Activities in the past have included working at a local artist workshop to make your own print and an Escape Room experience.
If you commute to the office using public transportation, we subsidize the costs.
We offer a 401(k) plan. Though we currently don't match, we hope to in the future.
Thursdays have become a day where many of our teammates choose to work from home.
