Healthcare is undergoing an unprecedented period of transformation. COVID-19 has truly accelerated the adoption of telemedicine, increasing access to care for thousands of patients across the United States and putting consumers at the forefront. These changes have challenged the status quo and forced providers and patients to re-evaluate the way care is delivered.
From in-home care to remote allergy treatment, providers and patients have adopted new ways to administer and receive medical treatment, yet technology and regulation haven’t kept pace with these changes. While care can now easily be extended beyond traditional geographic lines, there remains an incredible amount of red tape around legislation and disparate backend operations that hinders wider delivery of care. There is inefficiency at every level, and frustration for every party involved.
At Medallion we’ve built a software platform to remove friction from healthcare administration, allowing providers to spend less time on paperwork and more time with patients. Over $1 trillion dollars is spent annually on healthcare administration, from sending background checks to filling out insurance reimbursement forms. These administrative tasks are inefficient and redundant, frequently completed by manual labor and a series of paper forms, phone calls, and faxes (yes, faxes!). Couple this with heavy industry regulation and we get a care delivery system that is more expensive for patients despite all this innovation.
Starting with medical licensing and credentialing, the Medallion platform enables our customers to license their providers in new states, verify existing credentials and get in-network with insurance payers. Our goal is to abstract away as much regulatory complexity as possible so that our customers can focus on providing care.
In less than a year, we’re proud to have: launched our platform built an all-star team (25 people and growing!) helped our customers get licenses in all 50 states and in-network with every major payer
Whether it’s Brave Health treating mental illness, Ophelia tackling opioid addiction or Ro delivering COVID-19 vaccinations, we couldn’t be more excited to power digital health companies tackling some of the biggest health problems in society.
