Role Description
We’re looking to hire experienced engineers to join our exceptionally talented and rapidly growing engineering team. As a staff-level Frontend engineer, you will architect, and build web applications and mobile applications for our end consumers. Merit's web and mobile apps are built using React Native for Web and TypeScript. Our backend is a microservice architecture implemented in Golang using Kafka for interservice communication. We use our REST API to communicate between our apps and backend as well as for our 3rd party developers. We run on Google Cloud Platform and use Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform.
Responsibilities:
Architect, provide technical guidance, and implement the key components of our web and mobile applications using React Native for Web and TypeScript. Stay current on the latest trends and best practices in the Frontend space through constant learning. Influence the technical direction of the team by participating in technical design reviews, architecture round tables, and by suggesting new technologies and best practices that could help solve the problems we face. Contribute to the education and improvement of your teammates through a vibrant code review culture. Understand what drives value to the business and influences the direction of the product roadmap. Contribute to our skills and knowledge in all areas related to Frontend work - TypeScript strength, accessibility, styling, UX, animation, code style, and more. Own entire projects such as our React Native for Web component library - manage scope, technical design and architecture review, timelines, and coordination between team members and other stakeholders.
