Engineering at Misfits Market
Our engineering team is small and mighty. Our team consists of our Head of Engineering plus 3 engineers (and growing!). We currently operate in one week sprints so that we can be flexible for the business while we're still in a heavy growth state. Each week we start with a sprint planning and we have an asynchronous standup every morning via Slack. As a small startup, engineers will work closely with Product, Design, IT, Analytics, and Operations. Each engineer is empowered to own a technical portion of our stack.
- Building warehouse infrastructure for first-in-first-out inventory management from scratch to support our high-volume warehouse
- Building a state-of-the-art supply chain that tracks produce from farm -> warehouse -> customer box -> table
- Building internal tools and a CRM used by 250+ employees
- Building a next-level customer experience focused on a
autonomous grocery service
on web+native apps, using SMS/push - Maintaining a technical platform for a hypergrowth company that's outgrowing third party vendors
Building a marketplace for our customers so that they can shop across hundreds of items to add to their weekly subscription box
Creating a best-in-class mobile experience with push and SMS
Rebuilding our Shopify site in-house so that we have complete control of the technical stack and user experience

Our engineering team usually works from home around 1-2 times per week. It fluctuates depending on how busy we are!

We travel pretty often between NYC<>Philadelphia to work between our NYC and Philly office. We usually carpool for that.
