Role Description

We’re backed by amazing investors (Cowboy Ventures, Nyca Partners, and angels from Chime, Coinbase, Upwork, Nutmeg, etc) and looking for engineers excited about our problem space, comfortable in the fast-paced early-company environment, and eager to lead.

At Modern Logic, you will be a partner in shaping a cutting edge product and building this company from the ground up.

The Role: We’re seeking a full stack developer, comfortable switching back and forth between our Java Backend and our React front end.

About Modern Logic: Our team was founded by Nick Latourette (CTO) and Mitchel Scott (CEO). They met at Stanford, and worked on money laundering and fraud at Palantir. Nick later built out the rules engines powering pricing at Flexport, while Mitchel returned to Stanford to earn his MBA. Afterwards they came back together to found Modern Logic.

Today, fintech companies rely on stitching together disparate internal and external data sources, and building hard-coded internal systems to make risk decisions about customers and transactions. The process of automating and maintaining these integrations and decision logic involves tight collaboration between the engineering team and the fraud/risk teams. The overhead incurred by this back and forth is costly, both in terms of productivity and accountability for the final result.

At Modern Logic we are building a new form of automation – a modern rules engine designed to create flexible, adaptable and explainable logic that can be created and maintained by the people who own the logic, without relying on engineering support.

About Modern Logic

No-code rules engine and automation platform for risk decisions at fintech companies (fraud, credit, anti-money laundering, and more)
