Incubation Engineer (Infrastructure)

Technology Strategy and Incubation (TSI) engineers apply emerging technology to get banking out of our customers' way, putting customers' money to work where they want it, when they want it, without worrying about it. While incubating these step changes in foundational tech and security, TSI’s longer term goal is upshifting to a continuous evolution of technology, to keep pace with the accelerating rate of change in financial and data marketplaces.

We are looking for Engineering Managers and Product Managers to build and shape a variety of the platform's services. You'll manage and lead teams' cutting-edge work to prove out how technology can change the business of banking from the core. Our primary goals are to build out a more agile data-as-a-service capability on a twelve factor app platform friendly to DevSecOps culture. We're using these to prototype MVP digital banking services that rely on cross channel customer relationship models and cross line of business information and transaction flows.

Landing these platforms will enable continuous innovation across all our products and channels, empowering our customers to do more with their money. As the Incubation Engineering, Director you will direct the engineering and incubation of one or more prototypes. When needed for new minimum viable products, you will direct the engineering of new pieces of the platform itself.

You will define the scope and capabilities of the various minimum viable components of the future platform-as-a-service. You will manage small multi-disciplinary product development teams, with an emphasis on rugged distributed systems engineering and continuously validated security engineering, to incubate new technologies to prove these concepts, setting them up for straightforward scaling from proofs-of-concept to established services in the target state platform.

You will partner with product managers, architects, tech leads, and individual engineers to facilitate the planning, execution and success of complex technical projects across the organization.

You will work with TSI leaders to maintain visibility and effectiveness across all of the bank's product areas, and visibility of best emerging technology practices in the outside world, to help the bank identify and shape longer term strategic technical and product direction. You will provide strategic guidance to the talent strategy and tech hub development to catalyze tech capability growth.
