Role Description

As a SRE at Mux, you will build and operate a cloud data platform with exceptional reliability at high scale. This means helping develop and maintain globally distributed multi-cloud applications running in containers on Kubernetes. You will work across the entire stack, from application logic to infrastructure as code, with the goal of ensuring reliability and visibility into production systems while also supporting development velocity for the team. We're looking for a strong engineer who can work quickly on a small team to have a major impact on our application stack and infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

  • Help Mux systems operate with exceptional reliability, durability, and performance as we scale.
  • Assist Engineering to develop and deploy code faster, with increased confidence and minimal regressions.
  • Ensure Mux Data customers get the data and insights they need by building out alerting, dashboards, and integrations.
  • Help improve maturity of systems and processes.

About Mux

Mux is building the future of online video infrastructure. Our founders have previously built some of the biggest things in video technology (like Zencoder, Video.js, and Demuxed), and we're now building API-driven infrastructure to support the biggest use of the internet today: online video.

We have two products for developers.

  1. Mux Video is a simple API to instant video streaming, optimized by data and machine learning. Think Stripe for Video or the back-end of Netflix as a service.

  2. Mux Data is a real-time analytics tool for video streaming. Mux Data is trusted by developers at companies like Vimeo, CBS, and Wistia, and monitors billions of video sessions every month.

Company Culture

Our team is close-knit; we work hard together and have fun together. Our company values are:

  • Be human
  • Turn customers into fans
  • Care obsessively
  • Do a lot with a little
  • Communicate clearly and directly

We have an open and transparent culture, involving everyone in the both long-term vision and short-term objectives. We hire great people and then trust them to own important parts of what we're doing.
