Role Description

As a full-stack engineer at Mux, you will help develop our React/Redux front-end application, our Elixir-based APIs, and our JavaScript SDKs. Work on interesting challenges like developer-friendly onboarding, data visualization, and scalable APIs. We’re looking for a strong engineer who can work quickly on a small team to lead up important parts of our application stack.

Our ideal candidate: * 4+ years of engineering experience. You’re a strong engineer comfortable working across multiple platforms and environments. * Solid engineering fundamentals (CS degree a plus). * Advanced Javascript (we’re using ES2017 and Webpack) and CSS. React/Redux experience or similar preferred. * Experience building REST APIs that people enjoy using. (We're using Elixir, but experience Python, Ruby, Node, etc. is also fine.) * Bonus for experience with data visualization. * Video experience a plus but not required.

About Mux

Mux is building the future of online video infrastructure. Our founders have previously built some of the biggest things in video technology (like Zencoder, Video.js, and Demuxed), and we're now building API-driven infrastructure to support the biggest use of the internet today: online video.

We have two products for developers.

  1. Mux Video is a simple API to instant video streaming, optimized by data and machine learning. Think Stripe for Video or the back-end of Netflix as a service.

  2. Mux Data is a real-time analytics tool for video streaming. Mux Data is trusted by developers at companies like Vimeo, CBS, and Wistia, and monitors billions of video sessions every month.

Company Culture

Our team is close-knit; we work hard together and have fun together. Our company values are:

  • Be human
  • Turn customers into fans
  • Care obsessively
  • Do a lot with a little
  • Communicate clearly and directly

We have an open and transparent culture, involving everyone in the both long-term vision and short-term objectives. We hire great people and then trust them to own important parts of what we're doing.
