Senior Backend/DevOps Engineer (SX Network)

ABOUT SX Network

We're building SX Network which is the blockchain for betting. Betting is a $3 trillion a year industry that systematically exploits its users.

SX Network uses the power of decentralized finance and community ownership to create transparent betting ecosystem that is owned, operated, and governed by its underlying users.

We're originally dApp developers and have done over $90m USD in betting volume on SportX, our flagship dApp, since we started early 2019.

The goals for us right now are to make SX Network into the best betting experience for users in the world. That includes building out our own blockchain to support our userbase, creating other betting related applications, and making SportX the largest sports betting exchange.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the development of SX Network infrastructure which includes building blockchain features and optimizations, developer tooling, and monitoring services to ensure 100% uptime of the network.

Research cutting-edge features and architectures in blockchain development and implement them on SX.

Tend to on-call performance degradations of SX Network.

Build clear and succinct technical documentation for interacting with SX Network from a developer's perspective.

Keep up to date with the rapidly evolving crypto space and introduce new ideas to improve the network.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years in backend software engineering

Proficiency in Golang, C++, Java and/or Rust

Experience building and managing large backend systems and infrastructure on a leading cloud provider

Experience tackling difficult scaling tasks, optimization problems, and resource bottlenecks at scale.

A passion for crypto and the impact it can have on the financial system.

NICE TO HAVES

An understanding of the mechanics of blockchains and dApps is extremely helpful, as well as familiarity with Solidity development and the Web3 stack.

Experience in blockchain, consensus protocols, distributed systems, applied cryptography, compilers, p2p or similar systems
