Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team at the moment consists of two engineers and a contractor at the moment. Our biologists occasionally play data scientist as well to help train some of our NLP classifiers. We use GitHub flow, and review PRs on GitHub.

Applications where it makes sense to have a one-step build and deploy all do or someone is working on updating that infrastructure. We pay tech debt as soon as we have the time, which has been early and often.

We're identifying how best to build a computational model of complex diseases, the first of which is Parkinson's disease.

Projects you might work on

Create new/improve performance of NLP relation classifiers. Requires understanding of machine learning and state-of-the art NLP techniques, and a cursory understanding of downstream tasks (e.g. a graphical knowledge base).
Build infrastrucutre to scale deployment and training of our models
Build out our current Grant Proposal characterization tool (client search tool), that helps the Michael J. Fox Foundation identify promising areas of research to fund.
