Oncue
Oncue is building a platform for the thousands of moving companies that millions of Americans rely on each day.
Oncue solves two major pain points for moving companies and their customers.
1) As a consumer, the experience of booking a move and dealing with a moving company has not kept up with how we book other services today. Oncue is changing that through a combination of a service-oriented approach and innovating with an online booking experience.
2) Much of this industry also runs on pen and paper. Our software platform helps them run their business better.

Why join us?
This industry has seen little in the way of innovation. We have a huge opportunity ahead of us to change the way people move.
We are growing at a rapid clip, and in just a year have grown our footprint to where we now have customers in over a dozen states in the US.
As an engineer, you will be working on projects that not only impact small businesses but also end consumers like yourself. You will be building not just to help businesses grow but also materially impact consumer experience.
Engineering at Oncue
We're a small but nimble engineering team where every engineer owns a feature end to end. As an engineer, you will work closely with product and design. Most of our features are built in a highly collaborative fashion, where product will define the context and requirements, design will put together high-fidelity mockups, but as engineer you will still be putting on your thinking cap and paying attention to the user experience, what we're building, and how we're doing it.
We operate in two-week cycles but only occasionally break away from it if we're working on projects that can't be neatly boxed into two-week chunks. In that sense, we're not dogmatic and believe that practice trumps theory.
We deploy to production multiple times a week. Prior to being merged into master, everything goes through our automated tests. We work fast but keeping tech debt in check is important to us. We don't compromise on quality but are pragmatic in our approach that speed to production is a key differentiating factor when you're an early stage company and changing the status quo.
More than 11K moves were managed through our platform last year. This is a ton of data. The challenge we have is to enhance the consumer moving experience by automating quoting and booking a move. It's easier said than done. The algorithms we build have to factor in many variables that impact how long a move takes, pricing, and how many movers it needs.
This past summer the entire team built a mobile app for our customers in hackathon fashion using React Native. From start to finish, we accomplished this in three weeks.
One of our engineers fully owned and built an Intercom-like real-time messaging/conversations feature that meets the specific needs of our platform.
We're currently building an entirely online move reservation experience that has to factor in more than a dozen non-trivial factors that determine if a consumer can reserve a move date/slot.
Working at Oncue
Our culture is best described by some of our core/key values.
Customer-focused - their success is our success. we focus heavily on growing their business.
Ownership - we provide a huge amount of autonomy and ownership over projects. We are there to help each other, but trust in your drive and initiative to take projects to successful completion.
Fast-Paced (but not crazy) - scrappiness, urgency, and an attitude to keep shipping are values we preach and practice.
Inclusion - 60% of our leadership team is female. the entire team comes from varied backgrounds and we pride ourselves on that.
Internal Promotions - multiple team members have taken on greater responsibilities and moved to higher roles and functions in short time.
Impressive Team - our founders have deep experience in SaaS, product, and tech. Team members have worked at successful companies and even started/built their own and have the scars to show.
Flexible Work Arrangements - we care that you get work done, not where you do it from. We all work from home on Fridays. Team members who are parents have the flexibility to work hours that best suit them.
