New approach to an old problem — At Opendoor, we’re on a mission to make it simple to buy and sell homes. The traditional process is broken, with an average home taking over 90 days to sell and costing thousands of dollars. We make buying and selling home stress-free and instant. We’ve built an exceptional team, have raised over $600 million from top-notch investors and are growing fast, buying and selling more than $100 million of homes per month.
We're solving very challenging problems — Home-selling is a complicated process. We are working to make the process fast and consistent, while still ensuring a high-quality product. Some of the problems we're solving include: -Building in-field apps for inspection & repair, creating streamlined ways to coordinate contractors and fix up homes quickly and consistently. -Granting easy access to homes for customers on a flexible schedule and ensuring home safety. -Valuing homes: comparing home features, neighborhood qualities, past sales and similar houses in the surrounding neighborhoods, and working to ensure accuracy. We are building a valuation tool to generate automated offers. -Streamlining operator tasks and iterating on operational processes -Building broker admin, dashboards, and indexes for operators -Building a seller dashboard to walk customers through the selling process -Analytics for the health of the business

Scaling our home valuations algorithm. We ingest and analyze massive real estate datasets to precisely value homes, and these datasets will only become more complex over time.
We build custom internal tools to service the entire real estate transaction, spanning tools for customers service, sales, transaction coordination, home renovation, and home security.
Because what we are building is so different than the existing products in real estate today, a lot of our consumer product challenges are centered around UX/UI, collecting and making sense of new data and delivering better consumer insights, communicating what we do in an intuitive manner, and gaining consumer trust.
