We help core societal institutions collaborate on data to tackle important social issues such as homelessness, mass incarceration, and the opioid epidemic. Our platform uses deep learning to power the creation of standardized individual profiles that span across organizational boundaries which can be used for more effective delivery of services.

Engineering at OpenLattice

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team is small so its still flat with engineers reporting to the CEO. One co-founder is the owns developer operations and the other co-founder owns full-stack development.

We use the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo) + GitHub to with a complete CI pipeline on the front-end that allows deploying of tested changes in a matter of minutes to front-end applications (we could use more tests).

We have two weekly stand up meetings on Tuesday and Friday.

Technical Challenges

Using deep learning to reliably matching individuals across organizational boundaries, automating data integrations to streamline on-boarding of customers, automating the training of machine learning models for creating decision support APIs, providing a sane SQL interface to our Graph-based data storage model, and scaling and securing a HIPAA/CJIS/FERPA/42CFR Part II/GDPR compliant system, and cross-organizational case management/notifications/referrals with tamper resistant auditing.

Projects you might work on

You would get to work on creating a data pipeline for accelerated creation of machine learning and deep learning models directly from integrated data (automate hyper-parameter tuning, training of model, and deployment against pre-existing data).
Build an App Store for government from scratch.
Merkle-tree backed (blockchain if you must) based tamper resistant audit logging.
