We are a spiritual platform and provide spiritual leaders as well as practitioners a platform where they can share their experiences/learnings & guide each other. In this journey, we are hoping that we can build the most truthful & kindest platform on Internet.

Why join us?

  • We are growing at a fast clip. For ex: Our traffic has grown over 100% in last 3 months. Our user base has grown by 40%.

  • We want to build most truthful & kindest corner on Internet. While we are a For Profit company, we also feel that by building this platform we would be able to provide direction to many individuals who feel lost. So there is a bigger PURPOSE to our activities.   • os.me is founded by a monk who has taken a vow many years back to speak Truth and only Truth. We also feel that many issues in an individual's life (& society) would vanish if we can attempt to face our truth head on. This is difficult but not impossible. If Truth and it's impact tugs at your heart, we could be the place for you.

Engineering at Os

Engineering team and processes

We are a small team with our COO heading our technology team as of now. We plan to hire a Director - Engineering in future. We are using Wordpress & Buddypress stack for building out a community around content (content containing experiences & learnings from seekers). We use Github for DevOps purposes and bulk of the engineering work is carried out on Github. Google Docs (and Google Suite) is used for functional requirements etc.

We do not yet have automated tests in place but we plan to have automated UI regression framework deployed so we can move faster. All code goes through code review by our COO as of now given the small size of the team.

Technical Challenges

We are a believer of web apps (as compared with mobile apps). While purpose driven mobiles apps (like Banking or Communication) definitely have value we feel that web apps for a content player make a lot more sense. Two significant challenges that we are trying to solve are: 1. Stay friendly to Google Search in everything we do. It's a technical challenge & a content challenge both. 2. Provide a rich UX to our users through web app that can match mobile apps experience without the performance overhead :). That's a lot of conditions but with modern web, we believe it is possible. 3. Stay fast when it comes to page load time. Nothing new here but we want to be fanatical about it. Our current performance is not that great, in part thanks to the way Wordpress stack works but we have ideas around fixing it.

No specifics for now given that we are less than 10 people in terms of total size of the company.

We are a remote work company. We do use video calling across all meetings to ensure that every individual gets to know others & feels welcomed. Truth and Kindness are two foundations of our company & it's not something that we use in our marketing literature. It's the very foundation & all team members are asked if they can commit to it before they join our team. We do take this very seriously & we hope that our own team becomes better humans (with the help of these practices) apart from becoming a very skilled individual in their trade.

We provide training funds to ensure that individuals can train themselves. There are no specific plans for underrepresented backgrounds given the small size of the company.

  • Company Retreats

    We plan a company retreat in beautiful Himalayan Valley where our head quarters are located. It's a side benefit of having a monk as a founder :). These retreats are energetic but can also be very tranquil & peaceful for spiritually minded individuals. Due to COVID, these have been discontinued temporarily.

  • Flexible Hours

    All of our team members are expected to be online for defined 2 hours daily. Outside of this, there is flexibility in terms of working hours.

  • Social impact driven

    As mentioned earlier, we are trying to build the most truthful & kindest corner on Internet. We feel this can have a very significant impact on all of us (including future generations) given the nature of Internet where Internet has become a reflection of what we want to consume. Right now that reflection is muddy given the ease of toxicity on Internet, luckily reverse also holds true where one can be very kind to strangers (and oneself). We are striving to bring stillness into this muddy waterhole of internet.
