Why join us?
We have a relatively small team and you'll have the opportunity to be a key contributor and own entire features and areas of functionality
During the pandemic we committed to be a remote-first company, so you can work from wherever you want
We were recently acquired by LabCorp and have their full backing to continue to build and expand our product offering
Engineering at Ovia Health
We work in small, cross-functional agile teams that we call pods. While the sprint-to-sprint work and planning is conducted in these agile teams, the various platform teams (ex. Backend, iOS, Android, DevOps) work closely to stay aligned on technical standards, decisions and architecture. All changes go through code reviews and we have a highly collaborative development process.
Given the nature of our products, security is a top concern for us and is baked into all of our technical planning. Another top concern is performance as anything we build needs to handle thousands of requests per second.
You would lead the design of new features from the ground up, such as how we can support a birth control tracking feature in our apps
You may work on our data integrations with some of the largest employers and health plans in the country
You may work on projects exploring how we can use our enormous data set to improve health outcomes for our users
Working at Ovia Health
We are a positive, mission-driven team that works hard to support our users and clients. We have people from a range of backgrounds, and are dedicated to continuous improvement at the individual and team levels.
Our DE&I efforts are core to who we are and a top focus for our team. Our DE&I efforts are not only backed into our hiring processes, but how we work and how we think about building our products.
Being a remote-first company, we are intentional about creating spaces for people to interact with each other in non task-oriented settings. We proactively provide opportunities for people to connect with people not on their immediate teams and have detailed, support-focused onboarding plans.
The success of everyone on the team is a priority. Managers receive specific training, guidance and resources around supporting their team members and we have an independent team committed to supporting team members of all backgrounds.
As part of our commitment to an inclusive workplace, we are happy to offer prospective engineers the chance to connect with our engineering employees who come from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s a way to get a better sense of our team and what it might be like to work with us.
If you’re interested in connecting with our team, be sure to bring this up during one of our introductory calls!
