We are a platform that allows people in high volatility careers to pool risk and share in upside potential. We accomplish this by having people with similar expected career earnings agree to contribute 10% of their future earnings to a shared pool. We started in the MLB and NFL (currently have over 220 clients total) and are looking to expand our offering to the world (recent college grads, MBAs, young professionals, other sports, entertainment, etc).
You would be Engineer #1 at Pando and receive a significant equity stake in the company.
Pando was founded by two Stanford MBAs and is currently backed by top tier seed funds (StartX, Pear VC)
We are working on something that has never been done before. Our company blends finance, law, and technology and has the potential to change the way people think about future earnings.
One of our co-founders has a degree in data science from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Additionally, our head data scientist has 10+ years of experience and was the lead data scientist at Fantex. However, we are currently seeking a lead software engineer who will play a key role in building out our tech stack.
You will head the team that builds Pando's platform. Our platform will leverage data to make recommendations for potential pools. Additionally, it will include functionality that allows Pando to properly administer the pool. Functionality includes taking in tax documents, accepting / distributing money based on uploaded tax documents, and a social component that allows pool members to interact with each other on our platform.
We are a small team and everyone gets along well! One thing that highlights our special culture is our annual week-long Jackson Hole trip where we focus on personal growth and team building. Additionally, we play darts and have drinks with every candidate we bring in for an interview. We like to have fun, but at the same time we are very committed to what we are building here at Pando. Everyone at the company is given a lot of responsibility and trust, which stems from our very flat organizational structure.
