Engineering at ParOne, Inc.
This is going to be a small team. We currently run 3 engineers each with ownership over their specific domain. We're going to run sprints using Github Projects as our Kanban tool. Slack is our method of communication and we have weekly sync-ups with our CEO to make sure we're on the path to success.
We'll need to make sure we're able to distribute video all over the world and collect analytics in the most cost-effective way possible. We also want to know what the most
expensive parts of our APIs are. So we'll be strategizing and building our way through some interesting usage monitoring problems.
Create a UI to help a Sponsor create a campaign for a video, and choose the demographic attributes of who they want to see it, set budgets and configure geographical rights restrictions.
Write a library that gathers useful tracking events from viewers using our video player in different environments, Guarantee that users viewed a video for more than 30 seconds before deducting 5 cents from the Sponsor's budget.
Strategically come up with requirements for other datapoints that we should be tracking, what we would hypothetically get from them, and then implement those features, as well.
Set up replicas of our analytics database in several regions and VPCs, design a way to stream updates between regions efficiently.
