Engineering team and processes

Engineers have strong autonomy in deciding what is the highest impact. We do quick weekly sync's and QA sessions to revisit the company needs and discuss how we can scale.

We talk directly to customers to understand their needs. We hash MVP's, get feedback, and then iterate + polish what works

Technical Challenges

On the data side, we securely store and normalize our data. The backend ETL's from a variety of sources and reconcile the historical data into our systems, where it be pulled into a warehouse with the possibility of classification (and other fun data science things later).

On the backend, we connect many HR systems and handle logic for how to control, compute, and manage compensation. For example, we need strong permission systems to manage who sees what - e.g. recruiters to their own candidates, HR admins to all employees, managers to only direct reports.

On the frontend, we tell narratives around compensation for companies differently: early stage companies emphasize their founders, mission and vision; post IPO companies highlight benefits and compensation package. We want our users to see how an individual succeed as the company succeeds is a critical part of retention and hiring. We need engineers to figure out how to represent pay transparently, fairly and without fine print.

Finally, you'll have lots of autonomy in building all of these systems, which is one of the best perks of the first 10 engineers at an early company.
