Engineering at Pawp
We are an extremely flat and open Engineering team. Each Monday our Engineering and Design team meet to plan 1 to 2 week sprints. This will be your only recurring meeting (the rest are as needed). We love Slack and trust you to do your part of the sprint, there’s no meeting culture, periodic check-ins will be done on Slack or talking to your neighbor. Everything you need will live on Figma and Notion. Code reviews are done with pull requests on GitHub. We utilize Continuous Deployment for regular pushes so your latest feature or bug fix will be made available as soon as it's ready.
We are set to build a next generation online shopping experience, which requires serious engineering investment across the stack. Some of our current technical endeavors: (1) Serving loads of data very quickly by benefiting from performant grid layouts, proper async loading, and smart caching/local storage (2) Architecting and maintaining a web app that serves pre-rendered static pages as well as client side rendered pages (using Gatsby as a Hybrid framework), (3) Building a scalable in house e-comm framework, optimized for our varying product fulfillment needs.
You will get to build the Pet Passport. Think about it as a high-end dynamic dashboard, with a grid of tile containers displaying relevant information based on the pet, their upcoming action items, as well as some graphs and insights about your favorite companion.
You will get to build our first version of our product recommendation system, which will employ a rich set of data points collected from the Pet Passport to suggest the most adequate and personalized products.
You will help build our full backend async order fulfilling pipeline, and write intelligent warehouse dispatch rules based on various order/user metrics.
