You enjoy building things from scratch, growing and leading teams, and working in a startup environment. You want to shape and own the development of products used by real people, shown to make real impact. You have seen the end-to-end process of VR development and are excited to lead the build of immersive learning experiences. Most importantly, you believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion is key to the success of any company or organization and want to work to make society more equitable.

As a Director of VR Development for Praxis Labs, you will lead architecture on upcoming VR products, help shape the overall product roadmap, and take lead designing, building, testing and deploying immersive learning experiences for corporate clients. We want people who: brainstorm big ideas, thrive in ambiguity, drive concepts into prototypes, and can execute on transitioning a prototype into a high-volume enterprise product.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Work closely with the co-founders to design, architect, and evolve our pilot experience into robust and optimized flagship immersive learning experiences

-Build and lead a team of developers/freelancers with a focus on inclusive culture

-Roll up your sleeves and build alongside your team

-Provide input on other areas related to the experience, including design, storyline, and deployment

-Contribute expertise to VR and MR product roadmaps to push boundaries and increase impact of learning experiences

-Partner with platform technical lead to integrate VR experiences with our Learning & Reflection platform

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

-2+ years experience designing and creating VR experiences start to finish with examples

-Proficient in multiple areas of VR development, including animation, design, UI/UX, 3D modeling, and scripting

-Can optimize design to function on mobile VR platforms

-2+ years development experience with a 3D engine (Unity3D, Unreal, etc)

-Ability to communicate clearly and write clear documentation

-Must be located in or willing to relocate to New York City area (open to remote for the next 6 - 12 months, given current COVID-19 health guidelines)
