Prendio has a sister company, BioProcure. Bioprocure is a service company that plugs in to the clients' Purchasing and Accounting functions. This platform/service combination creates close relationships and extremely sticky customer retention. Our competitors can't match it but we have to stay ahead of the curve.

Engineering team and processes

We're a small, but rapidly growing team of hands-on engineers. We have a very flat organizational hierarchy, hold ourselves accountable to each other, and provide the opportunity to work on all parts of the platform.

We have multiple teams, each with a tech lead. There is a team for the web application; another focusing on backend processing /integrations, another for overall customer success issues, and an infrastructure /dev-ops team.

We use Scrumban as our agile development methodology. With Scurmban we work on the next highest priority item in the backlog. We have weekly releases; whatever is done and validated by Monday, gets shipped on Thursday.

We use JIRA to manage our tickets and use Git (Gitlab) for version control.

Technical Challenges

Our platform is built via multiple technologies but relies heavily on a Java backend and a Javascript/jQuery front-end.

We are in the process of migrating to a React front-end (using TypeScript) and building out a new REST API using Spring Boot. We are also building out a new backend jobs process system utilizing JobRunr.

The challenge is in migrating to and learning a new tech stack while also building new functionality needed by our customers.

Projects you might work on

You would be working on features for the web application as well as migrating us over to React and a Spring Boot API backend.
