We're building a new creative, collaborative platform for visual communication.
We're solving hard technical challenges and pushing the limits of what web can do, while building a fun and innovative product.
We have an amazing team, founded by two ex Twitter leaders, who bring a background in video games and large tech companies.
We're just getting started! Looking toward our broader launch this spring, this is an opportunity to join a small startup early on and have a direct impact on the product.
Our eng team is small but mighty, with everyone reporting directly into the VP of Engineering. The team meets weekly to go through product priorities and share what everyone is tackling for the week. The week wraps up with a demos session (accompanied by donuts) to see the progress we've made.
We are targeting an ongoing release schedule, but currently work in a weekly schedule. We have a great QA team of 2 who help identify bugs and are also building automation into our testing tools.
At this size we expect everyone to contribute high quality work and have the ability to work autonomously, but while supporting each other and collaborating as necessary. We believe in building things the right way, but as an early stage startup need to move quickly.
We're pushing the limits of what web can do as we build an interactive, mixed media product that allows for real time collaboration. We need to render content seamlessly, at a high frame rate to create the quality of experience we expect from the product.
Real time collaboration. This ranges from a comment system to real time editing of images, and the ability for collaborators to work within one project at the same time. The range of content within the product - from text to media to images - creates unique challenges in how to build an effective collaboration tool.
Text Editor. Our product has it's own text editor built in and we're continuing to build out a detailed text editing tool that also works seamlessly with our visual product.
The types of projects are endless as we're early on in our product development, with a lot of opportunity for team members to shape the work they're interested in taking on. A few examples include building templates into the tool, building our iOS and Android applications, and offline functionality.
Early in growing our team, we're committed to building an inclusive environment at Projector where people of all backgrounds can be successful. We work hard and have high expectations, but also a flexible environment that creates space for personal passions, including family schedules and personal development.
We offer 20 days of paid vacation and strongly encourage everyone to take at least 10 days each year. This is in addition to regular holidays, sick time and parental leave.
We believe having an office space that feels good to work in is important and are committed to creating a place people want to be.
We offer 6 weeks fully paid Parental leave, with an additional 8 weeks of fully paid maternity leave for women recovering from the birth of a child.
We aim for our core office hours to be in the 10-5pm range, but you'll see people coming and going around schedules that work for them. We focus on results and ask employees to be responsible about being present for team meetings.
We cover 99% of health coverage for employees and dependents, and 100% coverage for dental and vision.
We plan quarterly activities to get us out of the office and out of our comfort zone. This ranges from baseball games to building houses with habitat for humanity. We also attend the quarterly Pop Up Magazine shows as an extracurricular activity, including tickets for your plus one.
You can sign up for pre-tax commute benefits.
We offer a 401k plan for all employees to contribute to.
We love seeing everyone in the office, but understand that is not always ideal. We currently have work from home Thursdays, and are flexible in people working from home other days when needed.
All employees have a $2,000 yearly stipend for their professional development which can be put toward any workshop or conference that supports your development. Separately, we also offer a $500 stipend for personal development not tied directly to your role.
