Projector Factory
We're building a new creative, collaborative platform for visual communication.
Why join us?
We're solving hard technical challenges and pushing the limits of what web can do, while building a fun and innovative product.
We have an amazing team, founded by two ex Twitter leaders, who bring a background in video games and large tech companies.
We're just getting started! Looking toward our broader launch this spring, this is an opportunity to join a small startup early on and have a direct impact on the product.
Engineering at Projector Factory
Our eng team is small but mighty, with everyone reporting directly into the VP of Engineering. The team meets weekly to go through product priorities and share what everyone is tackling for the week. The week wraps up with a demos session (accompanied by donuts) to see the progress we've made.
We are targeting an ongoing release schedule, but currently work in a weekly schedule. We have a great QA team of 2 who help identify bugs and are also building automation into our testing tools.
At this size we expect everyone to contribute high quality work and have the ability to work autonomously, but while supporting each other and collaborating as necessary. We believe in building things the right way, but as an early stage startup need to move quickly.
We're pushing the limits of what web can do as we build an interactive, mixed media product that allows for real time collaboration. We need to render content seamlessly, at a high frame rate to create the quality of experience we expect from the product.
Real time collaboration. This ranges from a comment system to real time editing of images, and the ability for collaborators to work within one project at the same time. The range of content within the product - from text to media to images - creates unique challenges in how to build an effective collaboration tool.
Text Editor. Our product has it's own text editor built in and we're continuing to build out a detailed text editing tool that also works seamlessly with our visual product.
The types of projects are endless as we're early on in our product development, with a lot of opportunity for team members to shape the work they're interested in taking on. A few examples include building templates into the tool, building our iOS and Android applications, and offline functionality.
