Engineering at Promenade Group
Our team operates using an agile process called Kanban. We meet daily the discuss roadblocks and items we are working on next. We meet weekly to discuss larger project and release planning, and we meet twice a month to team retrospectives to discuss what went well and where we can improve. All code goes through code reviews via pull requests in Github. We use TravisCI for our continuous integration platform, addition to unit tests, code also runs through our selenium test suite.
We are in the process of breaking our applications into independent services and automating our deployment pipeline. We have some unique challenges during valentines day and mothers days as our traffic and orders spike to 10x normal load.
Building our next generation POS system using Node.js w/ GraphQL on the backend and React w/ Mobx on the front end.

Given we are still relatively small company (~50), everyones contributions make a big impact to the success of our business. Its not uncommon for the engineering and product teams to get lunch together multiple times a week. Given our offices proximity to the beach, we try to take advantage of that by playing beach volleyball weekly during the summer months.
