Quizlet is the world's largest student and teacher online learning community. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 400 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are always seeking to help students master any subject by optimizing study efficiency and engagement.
Quizlet is a small start-up of around 150 people but we aren’t the traditional small company. We’ve been around for 14 years and have a ton of user data so while we’re technically still small, we’re very stable, growing extremely fast in regards to our user base and revenue.
Until 2016, all of Quizlet's growth was through word-of-mouth and we acquired over 8 million monthly active users. Today, we’re at 50 million monthly active users and are among one of the most visited websites.
Our VC funding was led by Union Square Ventures, the VC company that led the growth of Twitter, Meetup, Zynga, etc.
We almost doubled our growth in 2016 and more than doubled our growth in 2017 and we were ahead of plan in 2018 (talking about revenue growth) and have some aggressive targets for 2019.
