Relevant Healthcare Technologies
We build analytics and workflow tools to help healthcare non-profits improve outcomes for their patients.
Why join us?
We're bootstrapped and profitable! There's no VC looking over our shoulder pushing us towards short-term concerns.
We get to solve problems for the people doing the most important work in healthcare today—helping the underserved.
Two technical founders. You don't have to explain why it's important to pay down technical debt or how devops investments pay off despite not generating new features for customers.
Engineering at Relevant Healthcare Technologies
These days, we do a fairly orthodox Scrum at Relevant. We do three-week sprints with all the accompanying rituals (sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retro). We ship code to production multiple times a week on all projects (daily on most weeks). We think of code review more as a way to transmit engineering norms and values than as a way to shield the master branch from bugs.
One of our applications leverages data visualization heavily, so there are lots of tricky front end challenges that come with that territory, like sweating the details of whether object constancy through d3 is helping the user understand the data or hurting.
We also maintain ETL pipelines from customer electronic health records. Many technical challenge at Relevant stem from the basic question how do we build scalable and resilient data applications when we don't fully control the source system?
Help build a visual query grammar for non-technical users to query their electronic health records.
Improve our ETL pipeline. Can we get make a new customers onboarding experience seamless and require less support?
Help us build the ideal Care Plan to coordinate patient care across multiple providers.
