How You Fit In: As the leader of the Application Programming Interface team of Reserve trust, you will lead a backend team responsible for building reliable and secure APIs that power our payments platform and internal processes. As an early member of our team, you will be a key contributor to timely delivery of new capabilities for our customer interface API’s. To be successful in this role, you must have hands-on experience in API development and the ability to lead technical teams. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and will partner and collaborate with our Product, Compliance and Payment Operations department ensuring the successful build and operation of our next generation B2B payments solution to scale.
What You’ll Do: · Lead day-to-day activities of accomplished API software engineers, including requirements gatherings and team meetings. · Lead the design, build, and maintenance of customer-interface APIs, services and systems. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical designs and strategy for new product development. · Provide technical and architectural guidance for the development, design, integration, and maintenance of our API services. · Write high-quality code, that can meet appropriate standards whenever needed, and contribute to engineering decisions. · Accountable for the delivery of software projects, team's projects, and well-written code to achieve measurable results. · Develop efficient processes to ensure the engineering team is operating with high pace, ownership, and accountability to internal and external stakeholders. · Perform team management duties for 3-7 software engineers including one-one coaching, mentoring, training, and development to attract, engage, and retain exceptional engineering talent. · Promote best practices in software development and foster an environment of excellence and continued learning. · Partner with internal technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve challenging problems centered around B2B payments.
What You Need for this Position: · 7+ years of professional software development experience. · 3+ years of technical leadership or management experience. · Extensive hands-on experience with API design and REST principles · 2+ years of hands-on programming experience preferably (in Golang) · 1-2 years of experience with GraphQL · 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (preferably AWS) · 2+ years of relational database experience (preferably PostgreSQL) · 2+ years of DevOps experience, containerization technologies, CI/CD workflows and tools like Docker · 2+ years of experience managing remote teams with direct reports. · Good communication skills in verbal and written and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $170,000–$220,000. Reserve Trust intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience and location.
