Saturn is a New York based consumer technology company building community around the calendar. Starting in high schools, Saturn helps students manage complex schedules, share their schedules with others, and engage socially.
The app offers a real-time view of your schedule, allows you to share your schedule and view those of others, and is being developed to include a variety of social features. We are passionate about changing the way that people keep time.
We are currently live at hundreds of schools and are funded by some of the nation’s top venture investors. We are growing our user base and team quickly and are excited to share openings on our engineering team.

Engineering at Saturn
We move fast, prioritize feature releases above all, without compromising quality. If you like a fast-paced environment while still maintaining necessary but not over-the-top process, Saturn is the perfect combination.
We operate in release cycles rather than standard sprints to ensure we keep delivering a regular cadence of updates to our hungry users. Following a standard agile development process, code is tracked on Bitbucket and linked to tickets on Jira, and documentation lives in Confluence - ie we are a very Atlassian-run org.
We have iOS, React, and Python engineers. You will have opportunities to work across the stack.
We are building hyperlocalization at scale - we need to deliver the same quality experience across all of our communities in the Saturn network. Crowdsourcing information from tens of thousands of users across different parts of the network is vital to ensure we don't need to manually maintain all of our environments. We want to use engineering to solve our data accuracy, as opposed to scaling a call-center. A mix of sophisticated custom internal dashboards combined with client-facing time input features allow us to move quickly to new schools. We need smart people thinking about this problem and ready to roll up their sleeves. This is an entirely new approach to time management so get ready!
You will build the time layer of the internet by combining realtime calendar data and user social data into a graph connected by time.
You will work on mobile apps (iOS, React Native), and our Python Flask backend in rapid feature development.
You will build the most powerful internal time management dashboards powering communities in the Saturn Network for hundreds of thousands of users.

Located in SoHo (on cobblestoned Mercer St), our beautifully furnished office is in the heart of one of New York's top shopping and dining areas - which is rapidly turning into a hotbed for the city's startups.
Our full floor set-up is equipped with Sonos (we love music), a conference room (affectionately known as

) with a garage-door wall, and large seating and lounge areas throughout. Our individual workspaces are spacious and comfortable.We have art throughout the space, have top-of-the-line furniture, and believe that providing a highly comfortable work environment maximizes productivity and collaboration across our teams.
Our office is close to all major NY subway lines and easily accessible from all major residential neighborhoods.

Some of our team-members work late into the night during coding sprints, while others prefer starting very early in the morning! We'll accommodate whatever peculiar schedule you might have (even if you're nocturnal).
