SeedFi builds financial products for Americans living paycheck to paycheck. Our mission is to get people permanently out of debt cycles. We're focused on improving financial health by helping our customers build savings and improve their credit score.

Engineering at SeedFi

Engineering team and processes

We have 10 engineers. We work on a two week sprint cycle, using Linear for tickets. We assign owners to specific projects and features. Project owners create a plan for incoming tickets, but they don't necessarily implement them. This allows engineers to practice ownership while reducing knowledge silos.

We invest heavily into CI/CD. Every pull requests starts a 30 instance spot fleet so we can fully test our branches within 15 minutes.

We believe in small, iterative releases. We value craftsmanship, empathy, agency, grit and integrity.

Technical Challenges

On the user-facing side, we have interesting problems in financial literacy. We like to go above and beyond in explaining to our customers how their loans work, how credit scores work, and general best practices for financial health.

On the backend, we need to integrate with a ton of different vendors in a reliable and idempotent way. We also need to deal with exponential growth and scaling.

Projects you might work on
  • We have a quickly growing data-pipeline that needs heavy query optimization to run in a reasonable time.

  • We need to help our support team scale. For example, we need to proactively notify a call center agent in the admin dashboard about the user that is calling them.
