Our fully remote team of logistics specialists and technologists is here to empower everyone along the supply chain. We’re committed to bringing greater transparency, collaboration, and actionable data to the world of shipping and logistics.
Why join us?
Our customers and sales are quickly doubling (as is our team!) with much room to grow. With our recently funded round we are ready to scale and hit the next stage in our growth!
We are an engineering focused startup! We value developer experience from both the technical and team perspective and believe coding and engineering should bring happiness in our work
Shippabo is a fulfilling technical environment, with many opportunities for developers to grow, share, and ideate. We believe in building a supportive and innovative culture where developers gets challenged and make an impact everywhere.
We are fully remote but we also try to organize collaborative events and have fun doing hardware hacking, 3d printing, and many fun projects on the side.
Engineering at Shippabo
Shippabo is a team of well rounded engineers. We value making an impact and engineers are involved in much of the product development, as such our engineers understand the feature they are working on from beginning to end.
The team's typical development cycle follows an agile biweekly sprint. Planning initiates a sprint with group consensus for story-point estimations and assignments. Developers are given high autonomy and transparency, taking on a leadership role for their assignment (with support from the team as desired or needed!). Following our biweekly sprint, we have a retrospective to review and share individual and team mindsets, with the aim to improve our process continuously.
We use Github to collaborate via pull requests, code reviews, and continuous integration checks. Our aim is to allow engineers to develop in a smooth and effortless CI/CD process.
Logistics is complex and has many high touch use cases. In the effort to simplify and automate as much of the shipping process as possible our codebase continues to evolve.
Shippabo developers excel at adapting to incoming challenges while maintaining simplicity and granularity. To support our endeavor, we strive to maintain decoupled business concerns, clear layers of separation following the clean architecture principles, and adopt tools to build powerful software (including GraphQL, clean architecture, typescript, terraform, kubernetes).
You would work on building and simplifying our server interface in graphQL, creating or updating user interface from react components and tailwind
You will be improving the platform performance and user experience of our clients and support team, in terms of response time, ease of use, simplicity, and operational functionality
Working at Shippabo
We believe in the power of empathy and trust, proactivity and resoluteness, continual learning and transparency. These values guide everything we do, internally and for our customers. Likewise we also believe in the foundation of feedback and continuous improvement. We learn from mistakes, validate ideas, and support one another in our growth
Most of our engineers are on the job from 9:30AM/ 10AM until 6 or 7PM, but we don’t have any hard rules around this. If you need to step out for a couple hours, feel free to return later in the day to stay on track! We care about productivity, not hours.
We want our teams to attend external workshops, conferences, meetups on a regular basis. We believe that continuous learning and staying up to date with new technologies is important.
