We’re here to empower everyone along the supply chain by bringing greater transparency, collaboration, and actionable data to the world of shipping and logistics.
Our customers and sales are quickly doubling (as is our team!) with much room to grow. With our recently funded round we are ready to scale and hit the next stage in our growth!
We are an engineering focused startup! What that means is we find problems or areas that can be improved with engineering, fix it and make it better, and scale it. We aren't afraid to take risk, fail quickly, or try innovative ideas.
Shippabo is a fulfilling technical environment, with many opportunities for developers to grow, share, and ideate. We believe in building a supportive and innovative culture where developers gets challenged and makes impact everywhere.
We also have fun doing hardware hacking, 3d printing, and many fun projects on the side
Shippabo is a team of well rounded engineers. We value making an impact and engineers are involved in much of the product development, as such our engineers understand the feature they are working on from beginning to end.
The team's typical development cycle follows an agile biweekly sprint. Planning initiates a sprint with group consensus for storypoint estimations and assignments. Developers are given high autonomy and transparency, taking on a leadership role for their assignment (with support from the team as desired or needed!). Following our biweekly sprint, we have a retrospective to review and share individual and team mindsets, with the aim to improve our process continuously.
We use Github to collaborate via pull requests, code reviews, and continuous integration checks. Our aim is to allow engineers to develop in a smooth and effortless CI/CD process
Logistics is a complex and has many high touch use cases. In the effort to simplify and automate as much of the shipping process as possible our codebase becomes increasingly complex.
Fortunately, the Shippabo team excels at adapting to incoming challenges while maintaining simplicity and granularity. To support our endeavor, we strive to maintain decoupled business concerns, clear layers of separation following the clean architecture principles, and adopted tools to help build more powerful software (including GraphQL, clean architecture, typescript).
You would work on building and simplifying our server interface in graphQL, creating or updating react components to consume the new interface with Apollo.
You will be improving the platform performance and user experience of our clients and support team, in terms of response time, ease of use and simplicity, and operational functionality.
Here at Shippabo, we believe in the power of empathy and trust, proactivity and resoluteness, continual learning and transparency. These values guide everything we do, internally and for our customers.
We hold all hands meeting every month, where every team has the opportunity to share their objectives/updates and we end it with an open Q&A! It's really motivating!
Most of our engineers are in the office from 9:30AM/ 10AM until 6 or 7PM, but we don’t have any hard rules around this. If you need a work-from home day, feel free to take one! We care about productivity, not hours.
We want our teams to attend external workshops, conferences, meetups on a regular basis. We believe that continuous learning and staying up to date with new technologies is important.
Work from home is possible from time to time, but we would prefer to have you with us in the office.
We organize team buildings on a quarterly basis!
We provide full medical and dental coverage.
