Sleeper is a messaging app for one of the last true social networks - sports.
People use Sleeper as a way to spend time with friends, family, and co-workers around sports.
A quarter-million active users are already on Sleeper, and we are growing virally. We are initially using fantasy leagues to cluster friends around a shared desire to compete. By offering the best fantasy leagues on the planet, we are able to establish a beachhead in sports, leveraging viral, invite-based, organic growth without having to rely on paid user-acquisition.
Our goal is to own the entire social graph in sports.

Engineering at Sleeper
Our engineering team is 4 people, consisting of 2 front-end and 2 back-ends.
We don't do agile, scrum, etc. We sync up once per week to prioritize what's important, then we go do that. We communicate closely to keep each other updated throughout the day, but we rarely hold official meetings at our size.
Everyone is pretty driven and mission-focused, so we've never had the need for a formal process.
We have a high bar in terms of the user experience, so nailing down the micro-interactions takes a lot of engineering focus.
We're always looking for ways to be efficient with less number of people, and don't plan to grow headcount, so we have to find ways to work smart. Think Whatsapp and Instagram teams (20-30 people companies serving hundreds of millions of users).
