As an Engineer at Snappic, you will build technology that helps eCommerce companies grow through creative marketing. Snappic is a fast-growing, fully profitable, tech startup that focuses on helping e-commerce companies grow using social and digital advertising. We do NOT do programmatic bidding on display network-related ads.

At Snappic you will be able to work in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. We are very lighthearted but work hard to reach our goals.

We are looking for a fantastic and motivated lead engineer with a minimum of 3-years experience, who can work through unique challenges using the latest technologies.

What you’ll need to join our team

You Are a Fast Learner: You can work with the latest technologies and are always up to date on the newest technologies on the market. It is ok to be a little nervous when using new technologies but that shouldn’t stop you from expanding your horizons.

You Love to Solve Problems: You need to be a problem solver and know how to figure things out yourself. We are looking to start handing off most of the day to day tech duties. If there is a problem, you have to figure out how to fix it-- even if the solution doesn't immediately come to you.

You Have Attention-to-detail: We expect you to take full ownership of your work. You are able to do things “the right way” even under pressure. It’s OK if things take a bit longer than they should but they should be done right.

You Love Testing: We do unit testing, integration testing, black box testing and testing spanning the whole stack. This way you know that code that hits master is production-ready. Also so that all our engineers can enjoy their evenings and weekends. Test covered code = relaxed free time.

You Are Organized: You are able to manage your tasks and keep your project’s timelines consistent. You also have great communication skills -- yes we use Slack and communicate a lot with it.

You Are Proactive: You need to be a great researcher. Production issues can occur and have to be solved. Issues that require immediate attention can arise daily and need to be taken care of to avoid hurting the company’s bottom line.

You Can Take Initiative: You are able and have fun identifying new features and constant ways to improve the quality and features of our software.

What's in it for you?

  • You get hands-on experience working in a high-paced engineering environment.

  • You get to join a company at the best part of the growth trajectory. We have found product-market fit and are about to hit the hockey stick part of the growth trajectory. You aren't joining a struggling startup that hasn't found traction yet. You also aren't joining an oppressive corporate giant. You get to move fast and still have lots of stability.

  • Snappic is a young company and you will have a ton of room to grow. You get to be part of a company that has over 100% year over year growth, is fully profitable, and has already gotten acquisition interest from other companies.

  • You get leadership experience and a hands-on role in developing features on your own. You'll work with the founders personally to figure out what features to develop and be able to dictate implementation on your own.

  • You get to work in a TDD supportive environment. We believe in tests. We believe in paying down technical debt. We believe it helps everyone sleep better at night and we make sure to allocate time for testing. We are over 94% coved.

  • You get to work with the latest technologies. When we started, we were using Rails 4 and Angular 2. Now we are on Rails 6 and Angular 9. We mean it when we say that we are on top of our tech. You won't get stuck with a legacy stack doing endless monkey-patching trying to keep your stack hobbling along.

  • You get to deploy quickly. We deploy multiple times a week.

  • You get immediate feedback and a lot of satisfaction. The features you develop will produce results almost immediately and you will witness first hand the fruits of your work.

  • You get to work remotely. Everyone on the team is a responsible human being and gets their work done. As long as you do too, you can work in your pajamas.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be developing and implementing new features with our founders

  • You will be in charge of interviewing + hiring additional engineers to help

  • You'll be working with a lot of APIs: Facebook, Chargify, Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, just to name a few.

Company Culture

We are fair and live by the golden rule. If we say that we will do something we do it. We also expect the same in return.

There is no kombucha on tap. There is freedom and trust. We give you the freedom to work wherever you want and trust that you will get your work done.

There is no burn out. We check in and see how you are doing. If there is high load and it is temporary, then it is temporary. If it sustained then we work to get more resources on board.

We think twice before calling you in on the weekend or working late. At the same time though, if a server goes down and you are on the beach over the weekend, we will politely call you and we expect you to get to laptop.

Examples of excellent company culture:

Our people stay. Most engineers at other companies are in and out in 12 months or less. Most of our engineers have been working for us for at least 2 years.

Our account managers are the same.

One was living in SF and wanted to move to Virgina to live in a farm. We encouraged that. Another one was in Okalhoma and wanted to move to North Carolina to get more in touch with nature and be closer to her family. We encouraged that too. We gave them the freedom to work from wherever they wanted and trusted that they would get the job done.
