Why join us?
We are building a high performance permissionless blockchain. There are a ton of really hard engineering problems: everything from optimizing low latency epidemic protocols, to secure sandboxing of untrusted code, to GPU acceleration for cryptographic operations. We have been open source and distributed from day one.
Over the past year, we've experienced meteoric growth after the launch of our mainnet in March of 2020. Our last hackathon had over 100 fully fleshed out projects launch in under two weeks, and to date, we've processed over 13 billion transactions on our network.
The founding technical team that created the protocol came from Qualcomm, where they managed projects such as Firefox OS and the BREW Operating System. Other members of our engineering team come from Apple, Mozilla, Intel, Google, and CERN.
Engineering at Solana Labs
Fairly flat, we encourage most team members to be nimble and jump around the code base. Engineers are expected to be highly self motivated and sufficient, without the need for program management presence.
