Engineering team and processes

We're a small engineering operation comprised of an iOS and backend engineer (both cofounders). Our workflow is flexible and variant based on the size of the features we're tackling - but we typically operate on a weekly shipping cadence. We work closely with tight iteration cycles with our product design cofounder. You'll have a large surface area to make an impact with our fast and flexible team.

Technical Challenges

The core of what we're building is an MMO. This means low-latency and real-time are the name of the game. We make heavy use of websockets and our greatest challenges will come from scaling stateful game servers with highly variant world sizes (1 to thousands participants).

Projects you might work on
  • You'd get to work on our user placement service which is responsible for autoscaling game servers and orchestrating user placement across them as they scale up and down.

  • You'd be building services which ingest movement and proximity data of users to augment a relationship graph between users.

  • You'd be helping us monitor and manage our infrastructure on AWS - giving us deep observability into our systems. And making sure we're following best practices with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
