Role Description


Extend and maintain production e-commerce stack, and supporting services layer Work with product management, and other team members to deliver delightful experiences for our customers, sellers, and other partners Take part in the monitoring of production e-commerce stack Produce high quality, secure, performant, testable PHP code Work with your colleagues to insure a high level of quality through code reviews, pull request reviews, and pair programming Maintain high quality, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment deploying many times a day to production Contribute to discussions that define our architecture and technical strategy Use tried and proven wisdom to design resilient systems REQUIREMENTS Basic Requirements: Minimum of 5 years PHP web development experience Deep expertise in either Symfony or Magento frameworks and their idioms and patterns Knowledge of Domain Driven Design Deep expertise of PHP language features Strong database fundamentals and experience with MySQL Low level understanding of MySQL indexes, table types and how to solve unique query optimization challenges is a big plus. Strong understanding of web-app performance fundamentals and related dev tools Strong judgment of caching strategies, OO design and datastore tradeoffs Strong understanding of design patterns and nuances Familiarity building service layers and resilient API integrations Confidence and agility debugging urgent production issues Experience using message queues and workers Mastery of git and Github workflows Experience creating unit tests and keeping code testable and maintainable A desire to be personally responsible for production-level code Bonus Qualifications Competent knowledge of e-commerce data organization and relationships Ingenuity to leverage all available tools at your disposal A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies Experience acting as technical lead on large features/projects Experience with or willingness to learn Magento 1.9 stack In-depth knowledge of PCI/PA-DSS compliance issues Experience in multi-store, multi-lingual, or multi-currency e-commerce implementations Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS/LESS Experience with responsive front-end frameworks/methodologies Contributions to the open-source community
