We are a team of Pinterest, Asana, and Facebook engineering alums on a mission to bring modern software to home service businesses. We are starting with the $20B moving industry.
We are a high growth, well-funded startup based in San Francisco. Our customers love us and talk to us every day.
We are looking for individuals with a strong passion for delightful user experiences and bringing technology to underserved industries.
Traction — Extremely fast growth. 15 customers during first 3 months since founding in June 2019. On track to hit $2M annual run rate in Q3 2020.
Customers — They love us and use Supermove every single day. We grow through word of mouth.
Product — A delightfully designed app that replaces regulated moving paperwork required of all moving companies. This is our wedge. The data we collect locks them in to our up-sell offerings, such as booking, reports, and dispatching.
Market — $20B Moving industry spends $10B on sales and operations. As we approach late 2020, we will quickly expand our tech to other adjacent home services such as storage, landscaping, painting, etc. ($100B+)
Backing — Seed round led by a top-tier VC and joined by 15+ angels (C-execs @ DoorDash, Pilot, Scale, Yelp, Slack)
Quality and speed are our core engineering principles. As a result, our team ships full features daily. As a Supermove Engineer, you will have complete ownership over the delightful features that you build for our growing customer base. This is a unique opportunity to use your engineering talent to greatly impact the success of our customers' businesses.
• You will work directly with the Product & Design team to scope out features
• You will be directly involved in customer conversations to feel the impact of your work.
• We use Pull Requests on GitHub to conduct code reviews and run continuous integration services to automate testing and deployment.
Because moving companies are often on-the-go, we must always make sure our apps work on a variety of platforms (mobile and web). We utilize a state-of-the-art system to share components (React / React Native) with a systematic way of styling, data fetching (GraphQL), and abstracting shared logic.
Another unique challenge is building a highly customizable product that does not sacrifice development speed. As an early engineer, you will play a core role in developing generic systems around authorization, feature flags, and customer-specific settings. These systems are the underlying tech that allow our engineering team to move extremely quickly while delivering amazing customer experiences.
We recently pushed out the initial version of our Payroll feature for moving companies to use. This replaces the old pen and paper workflow. Payroll allows them to not only calculate their main expense (labor), but also, for the first time, forecast future costs to optimize allocation and profitability.
Interestingly, we are able to collect the data that is required to run payroll without explicit data entry. Our Payroll service provides aggregate data and metrics for arbitrary dates with <100ms response times.
A core piece of infrastructure for Supermove is our custom Documents service. Each customer may have their own set of paper documents that need digitization. As we scale, it has become even more helpful for us, as it aids in capturing and onboarding customers quickly.
At its core, the Documents service allows customers to build and construct an abstract representation of their current paper processes. In the future, this will collect data that paper cannot (ex. photos, voice, videos, etc). This allows our tablet app to give each company a unique customer experience.
We value scrappy and resourceful attitudes toward work. We all hustle on a daily basis to build the best possible experience for our customers. We love delighting our customers and making their lives better. In the end, what we're building at Supermove is a full stack service that completely transforms our customers' livelihoods with modern technology.
We are in the heart of SOMA only a few blocks away from major food and coffee locations.
Our team believes in building camaraderie both in and outside of work hours. We have taken a few trips to Los Angeles and Lake Tahoe together in the past year and plan to take more in the years to come. It has been a great way for our team to bond.
Our team is made up of hard workers and as a result, we don't have any rules around time in the office. We value productivity over time spent.
We offer medical and dental coverage.
Our team enjoys doing many activities together including outdoor activities and board games. We like to host semi-regular happy hours on Fridays with the Supermove team and close friends.
We are flexible and will be able to work something out if you have a long commute to work.
Have a big feature you're finishing and need focused time away from the office? Feel free to take that focused time at home if you need.
If you require relocation in order to be with us in San Francisco, we are happy to discuss and will find a way to work something out!
