Why join us?

  • Traction — Extremely fast growth. 100+ customers since founding in June 2019. We close new customers every week and have net negative churn. We handle millions of dollars of moves each month and we're on track to 10x in a single year. We have exceeded the $2M ARR mark and at our current team size, we're profitable.

Engineering at Supermove

Engineering team and processes

Quality and speed are our core engineering principles. As a result, our team ships full features daily. As a Supermove Engineer, you will have complete ownership over the delightful features that you build for our growing customer base. This is a unique opportunity to use your engineering talent to greatly impact the success of our customers' businesses.

• You will work directly with the Product & Design team to scope out features

• You will be directly involved in customer conversations to feel the impact of your work.

• We use Pull Requests on GitHub to conduct code reviews and run continuous integration services to automate testing and deployment.

Technical Challenges

Because moving companies are often on-the-go, we must always make sure our apps work on a variety of platforms (mobile and web). We utilize a state-of-the-art system to share components (React / React Native) with a systematic way of styling, data fetching (GraphQL), and abstracting shared logic.

Another unique challenge is building a highly customizable product that does not sacrifice development speed. As an early engineer, you will play a core role in developing generic systems around authorization, feature flags, and customer-specific settings. These systems are the underlying tech that allow our engineering team to move extremely quickly while delivering amazing customer experiences.

Projects you might work on
  • We recently pushed out our new Billing Engine feature which allows moving companies to set up different billing templates for all of their different job types. Billing Engine allows them to set up formulas, variables, and templates to use on all of their jobs to automatically compute their bills.

One challenge we faced was how to make this generic interface scale across the many different job types that our customers conduct on Supermove. By focusing on abstracting the logic to apply to concepts like formulas and variables, we're able to support all possible job types.

  • A core piece of infrastructure for Supermove is our custom Documents service. Each customer may have their own set of paper documents that need digitization. As we scale, it has become even more helpful for us, as it aids in capturing and onboarding customers quickly.

At its core, the Documents service allows customers to build and construct an abstract representation of their current paper processes. We're then able to make custom workflows via our generic workflow interface so that moving companies can provide a unique customer experience. In the future, this will collect data that paper cannot (ex. photos, voice, videos, etc).
