We're a two-sided online platform that connects applicants to advisors for 1-on-1 college and career advice.
We are bootstrapped and profitable. We have not raised funding yet because we do not need it! However, we do plan to raise sometime in late 2018 - early 2019.
We are rapidly growing each year and earned $1 million in revenue in 2017 as a bootstrapped startup.
We triple our students' chances of college acceptances. For instance, the national acceptance rate for UC Berkeley is ~18%. We helped ~64% of our students who applied to UC Berkeley get accepted!
We are a management team of recent Stanford and UC Berkeley graduates with previous work experience at Silver Lake Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Teach For America. We collaborate and have access to an extensive and diverse network of talent, including investors (Pear VC, Tim Draper, etc), startup founders, investment bankers, professors, doctors, lawyers, and software engineers, who contribute to Synocate's growth by offering advice to us as a startup and/or helping our students get accepted to schools/jobs.
We have helped ~10,000 students get accepted to college, graduate school, internships, and jobs. We make an immediate impact on peoples' lives by helping them get accepted to their dream school or jobs. People will always invest in their education and career. We still have millions of people around the world who we haven't reached yet - including low income and international applicants. This is a huge market with huge potential.
Our engineer works closely with each team member on an individual level, discussing ideas and leveraging different viewpoints across business development, marketing, and production divisions. We are result oriented and dedicated to bringing premium services to our customers. Work environment and working hours are extremely flexible. Most software decisions are entirely at the discretion of the engineer.
As a full stack web developer, an engineer at Synocate must understand and utilize a variety of tools to address issues in database management, automated client processes, and providing a streamlined user interface. We intend to expand our business by developing cheaper and more accessible services, and are looking into building a web portal that can service an increasing number of clients while still maintaining the quality and speed of our current application.
In the past, our engineers have built the entire Synocate web portal from scratch, fully equipped with essay editing, one-on-one meetings, multimedia, and research services that connect students with counselors across the United States. We will only disclose current projects to serious software engineer applicants.
We are scrappy, fast-paced, and always tackling new projects to grow our company. We have a transparent culture that encourages honest communication. Although we have high expectations, we want everyone to feel supported and happy and often joke around with each other to create a positive community.
