Why join us?
eCommerce experienced rapid growth in 2020 which has been estimated at more than 40% above 2019. Our cutting-edge software product is designed to help users unify their data into one platform, simplify it with data science, and act on insights to grow.
Our engineering team has a direct influence on ideation and feature prioritization so they have ownership of everything they contribute to the application. This freedom and autonomy to envision pieces of the application and see how those contributions impact a user’s experience firsthand make the job extremely fulfilling as an engineer.
Tadpull is a multi-disciplinary team where engineers work with other teammates from a variety of backgrounds including statistics/data science, analytics, data engineering, etc. With a wide array of skill sets, our team is well poised to build out complex and useful functionality that the eCommerce industry can benefit from for years to come.
Engineering at Tadpull
Our engineering team works closely with our user engagement and data science teams to build well-rounded features that resonate with our users. We start our feature development process with a meeting where we refer to our priority list and choose the features that fit where our current needs are. Depending on the nature of the feature, we engage designers to start on mockups while the engineers think through the nuts and bolts of the feature. Along with designing the backend of the feature, our engineers consult our data science team to think through any needs that the data science team would head. Once tasks are delegated and design mockups are finished, the engineering team starts development on the feature which involves pushing code to a Git development branch. Once the feature is stable, it is then pushed to a testing server where it goes through two rounds of user testing and any issues are logged and prioritized. After high priority issues are fixed the feature is pushed to our production server.
Our application stores and processes a large amount of data which makes for a lot of optimization problems to solve. An example is our website tracking software that handles hundreds of requests per second where each request needs to execute in less than a second.
In response to the recession this year, we built an indexing tool that lets e-commerce companies anonymously pool their data to see overall trends in online business and compare their store against aggregate metrics. We got to see this project from start to finish over the course of several months, working directly with Tadpull’s CEO to make this vision a reality.
We face the challenge of retrieving data from many different sources and rolling them up in such a way that the information is both understandable and useful. One project that we completed recently was a feature for aggregating data from eCommerce campaigns to produce actionable insights and give clients granular detail on performance for their campaigns in several platforms.
